But due to their artistic and technological peculiarities they should be related to Gyanja-Kazakh type. In spite of technological analogy, these two groups of the carpets of Gyanja-Kazakh type differ much in size and artistic features. For instance, the ornamental construction of Gyanja carpets is more complicated than that of Kazakh ones. Kazakh carpets are much larger than those of Gyanja type. The carpets of Gyanja-Kazakh type may be from 3 to 10 square meters. Rarely, Dast-Khali-gabe, that is to say, a carpet complete set, characteristical to the district of Karabakh or Iranian Azerbaijan, can be met here. On the whole, the composition of Gyanja-Kazakh type carpets is more plan, elements of ornament are more geometrized, than of Kuba-Shirvan ones. Concerning color peculiarities, we can mark, that in spite of small quantity of colors used in the carpets of Gyanja-Kazakh group, green, yellow and brick-redare met frequently. Knots of Kazakh carpets are woven by "dolama ilme" and "gulabi ilme" methods, density is not high firmness and middle sized. Density of the carpets of Gyanja-Kazakh type varies from 25x25 to 35x35. Hence, there are carpets with 60000 - 120000 knots in a square meter. Exceptionally, soemtimes, carpets with a density of 160000 knots per square meter are met. The height of the pile is from 6 to 12 mm (concerning modern carpets). |
